Get your selfie taken with our IoT tech
While you're at the Festival, get your photo tweeted from our Tweet Booth, using some of the Internet of Things (IoT) technologies we have developed in Hursley Lab.
Press a button on a phone app, kick off a countdown with a flashing orb, and get the photo shared on social media automatically.
It's a fun way of seeing how we've used a Raspberry Pi with the Watson IoT Platform, IBM Cloud, Node-RED, and MQTT. Those are all technologies that we have originated in Hursley or have development teams today.
The demo was put together by our Hursley Client Innovation Centre (CIC) team, initially for a Global Scrum Gathering with a cross-section of commercial and private sector participants.
The CIC is an entrepreneurial start-up with the support of IBM, the world's largest IT and consulting services company. It delivers a wide range of the latest technical services to clients, and is a place for people with real enthusiasm and passion for IT who want a challenge, to ask questions, and explore what's possible.
